Good erosion control, sizes varied a lot
Used riprap along a ditch bank outside Arnaudville that kept washing out every time the bayou came up after heavy rain. Seven tons went in and it has held the bank in place through a full wet season without any more slumping. My only gripe is the size ran from fist sized up to pieces I could barely lift, more range than I expected for one load, which made stacking it evenly harder than expected.

Pond dam holding after the flood
Our farm pond dam outside Loreauville started slumping after a big flood a couple years back, and the old dirt patch job was not going to hold another wet season. Ditch armor held, delivery dumped it far out
Ordered riprap to armor a section of ditch bank that the parish had graded but not lined outside Sunset, twelve tons for about sixty feet of the worst curve. Louisiana Rock Supply's truck could not get close because of a low culvert near the property line, so the driver dumped it as close as he safely could, which left us moving a good bit of it by hand with a garden cart over several afternoons. The rock itself has done the job well, the ditch bank has not budged through two hurricane seasons of runoff since we finished stacking it. Just wish the load notes had flagged the culvert clearance.

Shoreline finally stopped eroding
