Bulk Aggregate Delivery Across LaSalle Parish, LA

Bulk Aggregate Delivery Across LaSalle Parish, LA

Louisiana Rock Supply handles gravel, stone and aggregate delivery in LaSalle Parish, LA. We sell 610 limestone and the other bulk materials a job here needs.

Work runs year round across the northern and western uplands. Wet clay in the draws is what stops a compaction pass.

Materials Delivered in LaSalle Parish

Material is sold by the family it belongs to. Base, washed stone, sand, soil and decorative cover each do a different job.

Base Materials

610 limestone, also called #610, 610 base or CR610, is the Louisiana base size. It carries everything from stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.

Louisiana DOTD specifies aggregate quality in Section 1003 of the Louisiana Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges, with soundness and abrasion requirements in Subsection 1003.01. An aggregate source has to meet Section 1003 to be listed on the department's approved materials list.

Use 610 Limestone for driveways, parking pads, shed and building pads, and the compacted layer under flatwork.

Crushed Concrete is recycled Portland cement concrete, crushed and screened to a dense graded size with the fines left in. Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.

It is not crushed limestone, and the two are not the same product.

Washed Stone

#57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. It goes down for a driveway surface, for drainage and for concrete work.

#67 Stone is a little finer and suits drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete.

Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out. It goes into French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs.

Where water moves sideways down the slopes and gathers in the draws, the drainage layer is the part that has to work.

Sand

Mason Sand is the finest washed sand, for mortar, brick and block work and for a smooth paver setting bed. Washed Sand, which Louisiana yards also call river sand, beds pipe and flatwork and backfills where a clean fine material is wanted.

Soil, Fill and Decorative Cover

Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the water. It compacts rather than settling, so it goes under a base course and not under a lawn.

Select fill is also listed beside spillway dirt as a grade raising material.

Top Soil is the growing layer for lawns, beds and grade repair. Natural Pea Gravel and River Rock are rounded stone for paths, dog runs, play areas and bed cover where nothing has to compact.

Delivery Across LaSalle Parish

The truck tips the material in one pile. Have the drop area clear and reachable, and know which pile you want before it lands.

Delivery covers Jena, Olla, Tullos and Trout, along with the rest of LaSalle Parish.

Ground Conditions Across LaSalle Parish

Across this part of the state the surface is sandy loam over Tertiary sands and clays, rolling rather than flat. Sandy loam ridges and clay in the draws are the pattern.

The surface takes water and the clay beneath it does not.

Water moves sideways down the slopes and gathers in the draws. Slope rather than a water table is what moves it here, so drainage has to be planned on that basis.

On bare sandy slopes, gully cutting starts quickly once the cover is gone, and stream and ditch scour follows in the draws. Riprap and clean stone handle that where a slope needs holding.

Work runs year round. Wet clay in the draws is what stops a compaction pass, so plan the pass around that.

Choosing the Right Material

Catahoula Parish sits on the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains, on recent alluvium. That ground is silty clay and clay loam laid down by the rivers, deep, heavy and fertile, with sandier natural levee ridges and backswamp clay in the low ground.

Our ground here is lighter and better drained than that. On heavy alluvial clay, water sits on the surface.

Here it moves down the slope and collects in the draws instead.

Caldwell Parish and Rapides Parish sit on the same upland ground we do. The soil and the drainage behave the same way, so the material choices carry across unchanged.

Before you order

What buyers ask us before they order.

Do you deliver to LaSalle Parish?

Yes. Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk aggregate across LaSalle Parish, including Jena, Olla, Tullos and Trout. You order online, choose a quantity by the ton or by the yard, and pick a delivery date at checkout. A dump truck then tips the load at your site. Note that Louisiana uses the term parish rather than county.

What is the difference between crushed stone and Natural Pea Gravel?

Crushed stone is angular and broken, so the pieces lock together and pack. 610 limestone is a dense graded crushed size that carries fines and hardens as it is rolled, which is why it works as a base. Natural Pea Gravel is rounded, pea sized stone. Rounded stone does not lock together, so it suits paths, dog runs, play areas and pipe bedding rather than a compacted base.

Should I order material by the ton or by the yard?

Both are accepted, and the choice is yours. Each product page has a calculator you can use to size the load. Pick the quantity you need, then set a delivery date at checkout. The truck tips the material in one pile on site.
