Open the calculatorGravel and aggregate delivery in Geismar, LA runs year round, and heavy rain is what stops a compaction pass. Louisiana Rock Supply sells bulk 610 limestone, clean stone, sand and soil by the ton or the yard.
Geismar sits in Ascension Parish on ground that stays wet. Order when the forecast gives you a dry window and the truck can tip on firm ground.
Across the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains, the soil is recent alluvium: silty clay and clay loam, heavy and deep. Sandier natural levee ridges drain on their own, and the low ground between them holds rain.
That water table sits close to the surface and the clay will not take water. A thin base course over it fails at the edges first, where the material spreads and the surface stops holding together.
The fix is a fines-bearing base that binds and hardens when it is compacted, not a clean stone that lets water move. 610 limestone is that material here.
Work runs all year. Saturated clay, not cold, is what shuts a compaction pass down, so timing a delivery around a wet spell matters more than the season.
Bedding under pavers and flatwork is where the choice of material shows. The layer under the setting bed has to hold its shape once it is compacted, and the setting bed itself has to be fine and even.
610 Limestone, also called #610, 610 base or CR610, is the Louisiana base material. It runs from stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
It goes under driveways, parking pads, shed and building pads, and flatwork.
Crushed Concrete, called recycled base or 610 concrete, is recycled Portland cement concrete crushed and screened with the fines left in. Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is a base layer, not crushed limestone.
Stone Screenings, the limestone screenings that pass the finest screen, are the bedding and joint material under pavers and a packing top for a path.
Mason Sand is the finest washed sand, used for mortar, brick and block work and for a smooth paver setting bed. Washed Sand, also called river sand, beds pipe and flatwork and backfills where a clean fine material is wanted.
For drainage beside a patio or along a foundation, Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out. On ground with a water table this close to the surface, the drainage layer is the part that has to work.

What buyers ask us before they order.
Start with 610 limestone as the base. It carries fines up to about two inches, so it binds and hardens when compacted, which is what heavy clay ground needs. Finish the surface with #57 limestone, the clean open graded stone at about 3/4 inch with no fines. It sheds water and holds up under tires.
Quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard. Each product page has a calculator, and it is the fastest way to size a load for a driveway, a pad or a paver bed. Have your project measurements ready before you order.
A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Geismar has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
