Open the calculatorGravel and aggregate delivery in Lake Arthur, LA runs year round, with wet spells rather than cold ones setting the schedule. Louisiana Rock Supply sells bulk material by the ton and delivers it across Jefferson Davis Parish.
610 limestone is the base most flatwork here starts from. Order it when your ground is firm enough to work and the load can go straight to the pad.
Across the southwest coastal prairie terraces, the surface is a silt loam over a dense clay subsoil. Rain gets through the top layer and stops at the claypan, so water perches in the top foot and the ground stays soft well after the rain has gone.
On ground this flat there is no fall to carry that water off. A paver bed laid on nothing but soil will move as the subsoil moves, and the joints open.
The fix is a compacted base course under the bedding layer. 610 limestone is the Louisiana base size, running from stone dust up to about two inches, and the fines bind it so it hardens as it is rolled.
Bare terrace ground also takes sheet flow, ditch and coulee scour, and rill cutting on fresh grade before it is covered. Get a base down and keep the water moving away from the edge.
Work runs year round here, with wet spells rather than cold ones setting the schedule. Time a delivery for a dry stretch and the base will compact instead of pumping.
Under pavers and flatwork, the bedding layer is the part that decides how the finished surface sits. It has to be fine, even and clean, and it sits on top of a base that has already been compacted.
Stone Screenings, also called limestone screenings, are the crusher fines that pass the finest screen. They bed pavers and pack a path surface.
Mason Sand is the finest washed sand, for mortar, brick and block work and for a smooth paver setting bed.
#89 Crushed Stone is a fine clean stone for paver joints and thin bedding layers.
#8 Crushed Stone is a small clean stone, roughly 3/8 inch, for fine drainage and paver bedding.
Under all of that, 610 Limestone is the compacted layer. Driveways, parking pads, shed and building pads, and the layer under flatwork all take it.
Crushed Concrete, also called recycled base or 610 concrete, is recycled Portland cement concrete crushed and screened to a dense graded size with the fines left in. Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is a different material from crushed limestone, not the same product under another name.

What buyers ask us before they order.
It depends on which layer you are building. 610 limestone, also called CR610, is the compacted base for a drive, with fines that bind and harden as it is rolled. On top, a clean open graded stone such as #57 limestone sheds water instead of holding it. On this ground, where water perches above the claypan, the base and the surface do different jobs, so match the material to the layer.
Each product page has a calculator for sizing a load, and quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard. You choose the quantity when you order online and pick a delivery date at checkout. A dump truck then tips the material on site in one pile.
A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Lake Arthur has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
