Open the calculatorFor gravel and aggregate delivery in Egan, LA, start with the ground. Rain soaks the silt loam, hits the dense clay beneath it, and stops.
Water perches in the top foot and sits there on flat terrace ground with no fall to carry it off.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk 610 limestone, drainage stone and soil to sites across Acadia Parish. Coarse, open stone is what moves that water and holds a bank while it does.
Swales, ditch banks and coulee edges take moving water first. Coarse angular stone is what resists it.
Start at the heavy end and work toward the fine material that finishes a surface.
RipRap is angular stone for bank and shoreline armour, canal and bayou edges, and slope protection. Rounded stone does not lock together, so it is not bank armour.
#4 Crushed Stone is a coarse clean stone at roughly 1 1/2 inch. Use it for heavy drainage, erosion work and stabilizing very wet ground.
Railroad Ballast is a coarse angular stone for track beds and heavy equipment pads, and for very wet ground where a large open stone is wanted.
#57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. It drains and it works for concrete.
#67 Stone is a little finer, for drainage trenches and pipe bedding.
Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out. It goes in French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs.
610 Limestone, also called #610 or 610 base, is the Louisiana base material: stone dust up to about two inches, with the fines that bind it and harden it as it is rolled. Driveways, parking pads, shed pads and the layer under flatwork all start here.
Crushed Concrete, or recycled base, is crushed and screened Portland cement concrete with the fines left in. Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is recycled concrete, not crushed limestone.
Finer sizes finish what the coarse stone starts. Stone Screenings bed pavers and pack a path top.
Mason Sand sets brick, block and a smooth paver bed.
For ground that stays soft, Select Fill raises a pad up out of the water and compacts instead of settling. Top Soil covers it where something has to grow.

A dump truck tips the load on site in one pile. Have the spot clear and reachable before it arrives.
Egan sits in Acadia Parish, and delivery covers the surrounding area, including Crowley, Rayne, Church Point, Iota and Morse.
Work runs year round here. Wet spells set the schedule, not cold, so timing a delivery around a dry stretch matters more than the calendar.
The ground is level terrace with a silt loam surface over dense clay, often with a tight claypan near the surface. Water perches in the top foot and the ground stays soft long after the rain has gone.
That changes what you order. A fines-bearing base like 610 limestone hardens and holds a drive or a pad.
A clean open stone like #57 or drain rock is what carries water away instead.
Bare fresh grade is where rill cutting starts. Sheet flow across open ground, ditch and coulee scour, and rills on uncovered grade all show up before anything is built over them.
Line the swales and ditch banks with coarse angular stone and cover the grade early. Riprap and #4 Crushed Stone take the energy that sheet flow delivers.
Match the stone to the job. Drain Rock and #57 Limestone are clean and open graded, so water moves through instead of perching above the claypan.
For a French drain or a downspout run, Drain Rock is the one that works. For a ditch bank or a coulee edge taking moving water, use RipRap or #4 Crushed Stone, because angular stone locks together and rounded stone does not.
A clear, reachable spot for the pile and enough room for a dump truck to get in and out. The truck tips the load in one pile on site, so pick the place you want the material to sit.
Have the grade ready if the stone is going straight onto a base or a pad. Order your quantity by the ton or the yard using the calculator on the product page.
