Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply brings gravel and aggregate delivery in Reeves, LA to two kinds of buyers: contractors building pads and drives, and homeowners fixing a yard that holds water. Both end up needing the same thing first, a material that behaves on flat ground.
In Allen Parish that usually means 610 limestone for the compacted layer, then soil on top of it. This page leans into grading and bed prep, because that is where the ground here pushes back hardest.
Grading and bed prep come before anything decorative. The ground in this part of Louisiana is often heavy clay under a thin working layer, so a lawn or a bed needs soil brought in rather than turned over.
Top Soil is the growing layer for lawns, beds and grade repair. Spread it over ground that has been shaped and firmed, not over soft fill that will keep settling.
Garden Soil is a blended planting soil for raised beds and vegetable gardens. Raised beds matter here, because the natural ground sits wet and a bed built up out of it drains and warms earlier.
Under either one, the pad has to be built first. Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the water.
It compacts rather than settling, so it belongs under a base course, not under a lawn.
On top of that fill, 610 Limestone is the Louisiana base: stone dust up to about two inches, with the fines left in so it binds and hardens as it is rolled. It carries driveways, parking pads, shed pads and the layer under flatwork.
Crushed Concrete does the same job as a dense graded base with the fines left in. It is recycled Portland cement concrete, not crushed limestone, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
Where a surface has to drain instead of bind, the clean open graded stone takes over. #57 Limestone is about 3/4 inch with no fines, and Drain Rock is washed clean for French drains, downspout runs and foundation perimeter work.
Start with where the rain goes. Across the southwest coastal prairie terraces, the surface is a silt loam over a dense clay subsoil, and a tight claypan often sits close enough to the surface to stop roots and water alike.
Rain gets through the silt loam, reaches that dense layer and stops. Water perches in the top foot, and on ground this flat there is no fall to carry it off.
That is why a drainage layer has to actually work. A clean open graded stone like #57 or Drain Rock lets water move; a fines bearing material will not, because the fines fill the voids that water needs.
It is also why fill goes in before soil. Select Fill compacts into a pad that holds its shape, while river silt and spillway dirt are grade raising materials that behave differently under a load.
Bare terrace ground erodes by sheet flow, by ditch and coulee scour, and by rill cutting on a fresh grade before anything covers it. Cover a new grade as soon as it is shaped.
Work runs year round here, with wet spells rather than cold ones setting the schedule. A soft week will slow a pad build more than any winter temperature will.
Bulk material arrives by dump truck and is tipped in one pile on the ground. The driver does not place or spread it, so the drop point needs to be reachable and clear before the truck arrives.

Ordering is online. You choose a quantity by the ton or by the yard, and each product page has a calculator if you want to size the load before you check out.
Pick a delivery date at checkout and the truck comes to the site.
Have the pile location decided ahead of time, with room for the truck to reach it and nothing fragile in the way. A load tipped in the wrong spot is a load you move by hand.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers topsoil and garden soil for beds and lawns, select fill for raising a pad, and 610 limestone, crushed concrete and clean stone for everything under it. If your project is grading, bed prep or a new drive in Reeves, order online and the truck brings it to the site.
What buyers ask us before they order.
Yes. Quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard, and you set the amount when you order online. Each product page carries a calculator you can use to size the load before checkout, and you pick a delivery date there as well. A dump truck then tips the material in one pile at your site in Reeves.
Use a clean open graded stone, meaning one with the fines taken out. Drain Rock is washed clean for French drains, downspout runs and foundation perimeter work, and #57 Limestone is the open graded size at about 3/4 inch. Fines bearing material like 610 limestone binds and hardens instead, so water cannot move through it.
A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Reeves has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
