Open the calculatorIf you are planning a driveway, a patio base or a drainage run, gravel and aggregate delivery in Saline, LA starts with the right material. Louisiana Rock Supply delivers 610 limestone and the clean stone that goes with it, ordered online by the ton or the yard.
The ground here is sandy loam over clay, so water moves sideways down the slopes rather than straight down. The material you put on top has to account for that.
Across the northern and western uplands, the sandy loam surface takes water and the clay beneath it does not. Water travels sideways down the slopes and gathers in the draws.
On a driveway or a pad, a thin base course tells on itself fast. The fines wash out of the edges, the surface ruts where tires track, and the whole layer starts to shove.
The fix is a base that binds and a surface that sheds. Rolled 610 limestone hardens because its stone dust up to about two inches fills the voids.
A clean stone on top keeps water moving off instead of sitting.
Bare sandy slopes cut into gullies quickly once the cover is gone, and ditch scour shows up in the draws. Erosion control there means angular stone that locks together, not rounded rock.
Work runs year round in this part of the state. Wet clay in the draws is what stops a compaction pass, so a saturated low spot will not firm up until it dries.
Fines and screenings are the quiet workhorses on paths and walkways. They pack underfoot, they bed pavers, and they leave a surface you can push a wheelbarrow across.
Stone Screenings are the crusher fines that pass the finest screen. Use them as a bedding and joint material under pavers and as a packing top for a garden path.
#89 Crushed Stone does the same job at a finer grade, filling paver joints and thin bedding layers. For a walkway surface, Walkway Gravel is a finer gravel that packs underfoot.
#8 Crushed Stone, roughly 3/8 inch, handles fine drainage and paver bedding where you want clean stone.
For a driveway, 610 limestone is the base to start from. It goes down as the compacted layer under the drive, a parking pad, a shed pad, or the flatwork you pour later.
610 Limestone is the Louisiana base size, stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
Crushed Concrete is the other base option. It is recycled Portland cement concrete, crushed and screened to a dense graded size with the fines left in, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
Where water has to move, #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size, about 3/4 inch with no fines. It drains, and it is the usual choice for drainage and concrete work.
Drain Rock is a washed stone with the fines taken out, for French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs.
You order online, choose a quantity by the ton or by the yard, and pick a delivery date at checkout. A dump truck then tips the load on site in one pile.
Choosing between tons and yards is the part worth slowing down on. Each product page has a calculator, and it is the quickest way to size a load before you commit.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers across Bienville Parish, including Arcadia, Ringgold, Gibsland, Castor and Bienville. Saline orders arrive the same way, tipped where the truck can reach.
Sizing the load is the step that decides how the job goes. Use the calculator on the product page, order by the ton or the yard, and pick your delivery date at checkout.

What buyers ask us before they order.
Clear the spot where the pile will land and make sure the truck can reach it. Bulk delivery tips the whole load in one pile, so pick a firm, open area that will not block a drive or a doorway. If the ground is soft from recent rain, choose a spot that will hold the weight.
Start with 610 limestone as the compacted base, because the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled. For the setting bed, use Stone Screenings, the crusher fines that pass the finest screen. The sandy loam over clay here means water moves sideways, so a base that binds and a clean edge matter.
We would rather move a delivery than tear up your ground. If the site is too wet for the truck on the day, we will call you and rebook. Tell us in advance about any part of the approach that does not drain and we will plan around it.
