Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply brings gravel and aggregate delivery in Bourg, LA to jobs on ground that is soft, saturated and slow to shed water. Across the deltaic plain, the firm ground is on the natural levee ridges and old channels, and the rest is muck and soft clay.
That changes what you order first. On a lot like that, 610 limestone is the base that carries a drive or a pad, and a clean washed stone is the layer that moves water away from it.
Water is the first thing to plan for on this ground. The water table sits at or near the surface, so nothing drains downward and a drainage layer has to carry water sideways to a ditch, a canal or a drywell.
Start coarse and work down. Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out, and it is the material for French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs.
#4 Crushed Stone runs about 1 1/2 inch and suits heavy drainage, erosion work and very wet ground. #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines, and it works as a driveway surface and around concrete work.
#67 Stone is a little finer than #57 and goes into drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete. #89 Crushed Stone is the fine clean stone for paver joints and thin bedding layers.
Where a surface has to bind rather than drain, 610 Limestone is the Louisiana base: stone dust up to about two inches, with the fines left in so it hardens as it is rolled.
Road Base is recycled Portland cement concrete, crushed and screened to a dense graded size, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk material across Terrebonne Parish, and Bourg is inside that coverage along with Houma, Gray, Schriever, Chauvin and Montegut. You order online and a dump truck tips the load on site in one pile.
Quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard. Each product page has a calculator, and you pick your delivery date at checkout.
Nothing else is needed from you before the truck arrives.
One thing worth planning before the truck gets there: where the pile lands. On soft ground, a pile set down where the base is going saves you moving it twice, and a pile set down on a driveway you still have to use is a problem.
Work here runs year round, interrupted by rain and by high water rather than by cold. That makes timing the delivery the practical question, not the season.
The soil is the bigger constraint. Coastal marsh ground is organic muck and soft clay, under consolidated and highly compressible, and a pad built on muck settles under its own weight before anything is parked on it.
So the order of work matters. Select Fill compacts rather than settling, which is why it goes under a base course and not under a lawn.
Top Soil is the growing layer for lawns and beds, over ground that is more often heavy clay than anything a lawn wants.
Erosion is the other long term item on this coast. Storm surge, canal and bayou bank retreat and wave action along open water all move ground, and RipRap is the angular stone for bank and shoreline armour and slope protection.

It depends on what the drive sits on. Where you need a hardened surface, 610 limestone is the Louisiana base, with fines that bind it as it is rolled. Where drainage matters more, #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. Road Base is the dense graded recycled option.
Wherever you tell us, as long as the truck can safely reach it. Mark the spot before the delivery and someone should be on site to point the driver to it. If nobody can be there, leave clear instructions when you order and we will follow them.
