Order 610 limestone for a driveway or pad and the truck can tip it as soon as the ground takes the weight.
Delhi sits in Richland Parish, on ground laid down by the rivers. That ground is heavy and it holds water, so the material under your project matters as much as the surface.
610 limestone is the base material for this market. It is also called #610, 610 base or CR610, and it is crushed limestone with stone dust up to about two inches left in the mix.
Those fines bind the stone, so it hardens as it is rolled. It goes under driveways, parking pads, shed and building pads, and flatwork.
Road Base is the recycled option. It is Portland cement concrete, crushed and screened to a dense graded size with the fines left in, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is not crushed limestone and it is not sold as such.
For the wearing surface on a drive, #57 limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. Driveway gravel tops a finished base course, and walkway gravel packs underfoot on garden paths.
Washed stone covers the drainage side. #67 Stone is a little finer than #57 and suits drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete.
#4 Crushed Stone is coarse and clean at roughly 1 1/2 inch, for heavy drainage and wet ground.
On the fine end, #8 Crushed Stone runs about 3/8 inch for fine drainage and paver bedding, and #89 Crushed Stone is finer still for paver joints and thin bedding layers.
Sand and soil round out a project. Mason Sand is the finest washed sand, for mortar and block work and for a smooth paver setting bed.
Washed Sand, also called river sand, beds pipe and flatwork.
Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the water. It compacts rather than settling, so it belongs under a base course and not under a lawn.
Spillway dirt is a second yard term for the same coarse fill.
For planting, Garden Soil is a blended mix for raised beds and vegetables, and raised beds matter here because the natural ground sits wet. Shredded Mulch dresses beds and tree rings, and cypress mulch is the name a Louisiana buyer asks for.
Across the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains, the ground is recent alluvium: silty clay and clay loam laid down by the rivers, deep and heavy. Sandier natural levee ridges run along the old channels, and backswamp clay sits in the low ground between them.
The water table is high and the clay will not take water. The land is flat, so the ridges are the only ground that drains by itself, and the backswamp holds rain until it is ditched or pumped away.
That shapes what you put down. A base course has to bridge soft clay rather than sit in it, which is why 610 limestone and Road Base both carry fines that bind and harden.
A clean open stone like #57 limestone or drain rock lets water move instead of trapping it.
Erosion follows the same pattern. River and bayou banks cut, bare clay sheds sheet flow after a hard rain, and ditches and canals scour.
Riprap is angular stone for bank and shoreline armour, canal and bayou edges and slope protection. Large river rock is rounded cobble for dry creek beds and edging, and rounded stone does not lock together, so it is not bank armour.

Bulk material arrives on a dump truck and the load is tipped in one pile on site. Have the drop area clear and reachable, with room for the truck to get in and out and nothing overhead that the raised bed would catch.
Delivery covers Delhi and the rest of Richland Parish, including Rayville and Mangham. If your site is on a parish road or a private drive, make sure the surface will carry a loaded truck before the date you pick.

Delhi projects run on base and driveway material: 610 limestone and Road Base under drives and pads, #57 limestone on the surface, drain rock where water has to move, and select fill where the ground sits low. Sand, top soil and mulch finish the job.

A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Delhi has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
