Open the calculatorLooking for gravel and aggregate delivery in Evans, LA for a pad, a drive or a low spot that keeps holding water? Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk material here, and 610 limestone is the base that answers most of those jobs.
This is the northern and western uplands, where the surface is sandy loam over clay. Water moves sideways down the slope and gathers in the draws, so grade and base decide how a job holds up.
You order online and pick your quantity by the ton or by the yard. Each product page has a calculator, so you can size the load before checkout and choose a delivery date that fits your schedule.
A dump truck tips the load on site in one pile. Delivery reaches Evans and the rest of Vernon Parish, including Leesville, New Llano, Anacoco, Hornbeck and Pitkin.
Have the drop spot clear before the truck arrives. Bulk material comes off the bed in a single pile, so the ground under it needs to be open and reachable.
Raising grade and building a pad is the work this ground asks for first. On a rolling sandy loam slope, a pad that sits low will keep pulling water, so the fill layer and the base above it have to be built in the right order.
Start with the fill. Select Fill lifts low ground and builds a pad up out of the wet, and it compacts instead of settling.
River silt and spillway dirt are the other Louisiana names yards use for grade raising material.
Over that fill goes the base. 610 Limestone is the Louisiana base size, with stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
It carries driveways, parking pads, shed pads and the layer under flatwork.
For a driveway surface, #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. Driveway Gravel tops a finished base course on an existing drive.
Where water has to leave, use clean stone. Drain Rock is washed stone with the fines taken out, for French drains, foundation perimeter drains and downspout runs.
#4 Crushed Stone handles heavy drainage and stabilising very wet ground.
For a patio, bed the pavers on Mason Sand or Stone Screenings, then sweep #89 Crushed Stone into the joints.
The uplands here are sandy loam over Tertiary sands and clays, rolling rather than flat, with clay sitting in the draws. The sandy surface takes water and the clay beneath it does not.
That means water moves sideways down the slopes instead of soaking away. On a bare sandy slope it cuts gullies fast once the cover is gone, and it scours ditches in the draws.
An under-built base is what fails on that ground. A thin layer over soft fill flexes under a truck, and the fines pump up through it.
Select Fill below and 610 Limestone above gives the load something that holds.
Work runs year round here. Wet clay in the draws is what stops a compaction pass, so plan the fill and base work around that.
For raising grade, building a pad or laying a drive, 610 limestone and Select Fill are the two materials that carry the work on this ground. Order online, size your load with the calculator on the product page, and choose your delivery date at checkout.
What buyers ask us before they order.
610 Limestone is the base layer, because the stone dust up to about two inches binds it and it hardens as it is rolled. Over that, bed the pavers on Mason Sand or Stone Screenings, then sweep #89 Crushed Stone into the joints. On this ground, build the fill up first so the base sits on something solid.
