Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply handles gravel and aggregate delivery in DeRidder, LA, and 610 limestone is the base this market builds on. It runs from stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
DeRidder sits in Beauregard Parish on level terrace ground, where a silt loam surface sits over dense clay. That ground shapes which material fits which job.
Coarse stone does the heavy work on slope, swale and bank protection around DeRidder. Angular stone is what holds ground in place; rounded stone does not lock together and is not bank armour.
RipRap is angular stone for bank and shoreline armour, canal and bayou edges, and slope protection. #4 Crushed Stone is a coarse clean stone, roughly 1 1/2 inch, for heavy drainage, erosion work and stabilising very wet ground.
Railroad Ballast is coarse angular stone for track beds, heavy equipment pads and very wet ground where a large open stone is wanted. Large River Rock is rounded cobble for dry creek beds, decorative edging and low banks.
Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out, for French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs. #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size, about 3/4 inch with no fines, and it drains.
#67 Stone is a clean stone a little finer than #57, for drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete. #8 Crushed Stone is a small clean stone, roughly 3/8 inch, for fine drainage and paver bedding.
610 Limestone is the compacted layer under drives, parking pads, shed and building pads, and flatwork. Road Base is recycled Portland cement concrete, crushed and screened with the fines left in, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the water. It compacts rather than settling, so it goes under a base course and not under a lawn.
You order online and pick a delivery date at checkout. Quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard, and each product page has a calculator to size the load.
A dump truck tips the load on site in one pile. Delivery covers DeRidder and the rest of Beauregard Parish, including Merryville, Singer, Longville, Ragley and Sugartown.
Work runs year round here, with wet spells rather than cold ones setting the schedule. Timing a delivery around a dry stretch matters more than timing it around temperature.
The ground is level Pleistocene terrace with a silt loam surface over dense clay. Rain gets through the surface, reaches the subsoil and stops, so water perches in the top foot and the ground stays soft long after the rain has gone.
On ground this flat there is no fall to carry water off. A drainage layer of clean stone is the part that has to work, and fines-bearing material will not do that job.
Bare terrace ground also moves. Sheet flow crosses it, ditches and coulees scour, and fresh grade rills before it is covered.
Angular stone on those edges holds where rounded stone will not.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk gravel, stone, sand, topsoil and fill across DeRidder and Beauregard Parish. Choose your material, size the load, and pick a delivery date at checkout to get your order on the way.
What buyers ask us before they order.
Use clean stone with the fines taken out. Drain Rock suits French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs. #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch, and #67 Stone is a little finer for drainage trenches and pipe bedding. #4 Crushed Stone handles heavy drainage and very wet ground. Fines-bearing base material does not drain.
Have the drop spot clear and reachable, with room for a dump truck to tip the load in one pile. The driver tips it and leaves; the load is not placed or spread. Order your quantity by the ton or yard on the product page, and pick your delivery date at checkout.
A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Deridder has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
