Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply handles gravel and aggregate delivery in Rosedale, LA, and the ground here decides what you need. The clay holds water, so a drainage layer has to work.
Start with 610 limestone for anything that has to support weight.
Sizing a load is simple. Each product page has a calculator, and you order by the ton or by the yard.
Water is the job here. A high water table and clay that will not take water mean French drains, drywells and downspout runs do the heavy lifting on most lots.
Those runs need clean washed stone with the fines taken out. Drain Rock is that material: washed, open graded, and it stays open so water moves instead of sitting.
Size the stone to the run. #4 Crushed Stone is the coarse clean stone at roughly 1 1/2 inch, for heavy drainage and wet ground.
#67 Stone is finer, for drainage trenches and pipe bedding.
Where nothing has to compact, rounded stone works. Natural Pea Gravel suits paths and dog runs, and River Rock covers beds and borders.
Under a drive or a pad, the base is a different material. 610 limestone is the Louisiana base, stone dust up to about two inches, and the fines bind it as it is rolled.
Crushed Concrete is recycled Portland cement concrete screened to a dense graded size, permitted in Louisiana as a Class II base course material.
Finishing layers are finer again. Stone Screenings bed pavers and pack a path, and Mason Sand gives a smooth setting bed for brick and block.
Rosedale sits in Iberville Parish, and delivery covers the parish and the towns around it, including St. Gabriel, Plaquemine, White Castle, Maringouin and Grosse Tete.

Have the drop spot clear before the truck arrives. Bulk material comes in one pile, so the spot you pick is where it stays.
Work runs year round here. Heavy rain and saturated clay, not cold, are what stop a compaction pass, so timing a delivery around a wet stretch matters more than the calendar.
The ground across the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains is recent alluvium: silty clay and clay loam, deep and heavy, with sandier natural levee ridges along the old channels and backswamp clay in the low ground between them.
That flat, heavy ground drains poorly. The ridges are the only ground that sheds water on its own, and the low ground holds rain until it is ditched or pumped away.
So a drive or a pad on the low ground needs a base that compacts and a drainage layer that moves water. Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the wet, and it compacts rather than settling.
Bare clay also cuts. Sheet flow after a hard rain scours a slope, and ditch and canal banks scour from the same water.
Riprap is the angular stone for bank armour and slope protection.

It depends on which layer you are building. 610 limestone is the Louisiana base, with stone dust up to about two inches so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled. For a surface layer, #57 Limestone is the clean 3/4 inch stone with no fines. On ground this wet, the base course is the part that has to hold.
You can order by the ton or by the cubic yard, whichever suits how you plan the job. If you tell us the area you are covering and the depth you want, we will work the quantity out with you rather than leaving you to guess.
