Open the calculatorOrder gravel and aggregate delivery in Jarreau, LA by the ton or by the yard, and Louisiana Rock Supply tips it on your site. Start with 610 limestone for a drive or a pad.
Ground here is heavy clay and silty clay, and it stays wet long after the rain stops. Build on that with the right material and the work lasts.
Grading and bed prep start under the surface. Raise the pad, sharpen the grade, then plant or pave over it.
Top Soil is the growing layer for lawns, beds and grade repair. It goes over ground that is more often heavy clay than anything a lawn wants.
Garden Soil is a blended planting soil for raised beds and vegetable gardens. Raised beds matter here, because the natural ground sits wet.
Select Fill raises low ground and builds a pad up out of the water. It compacts rather than settling, so it goes under a base course and not under a lawn.
Spillway dirt is the same family of coarse fill from borrow areas.
Below the soil, 610 Limestone is the Louisiana base, also called #610 or CR610. Stone dust up to about two inches binds it, so it hardens as it is rolled, which suits drives, parking pads and the layer under flatwork.
Crushed Concrete is recycled Portland cement concrete crushed and screened with the fines left in. Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is not crushed limestone.
For a clean layer that water moves through, use #57 Limestone, about 3/4 inch with no fines, for a driveway surface, drainage and concrete work. Drain Rock is washed stone with the fines taken out, for French drains, perimeter drains and downspout runs.
Across the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains, the land is flat and the water table sits close to the surface. Clay will not take water, so rain stands until it is ditched or pumped away.
Only the natural levee ridges drain by themselves. The backswamp between them holds what falls.
That is why the drainage layer has to work. A base course over saturated clay pumps and rut, no matter how well it is rolled.
Bank cutting on the river and bayou edges, sheet flow across bare clay after a hard rain, and ditch scour are the erosion you plan for. Angular stone such as RipRap armours a bank or a canal edge.
Rounded stone does not lock together, so it is not bank armour.
Work runs year round here. Heavy rain and saturated clay, not cold, are what stop a compaction pass.

Jarreau sits in Pointe Coupee Parish, and deliveries also run to New Roads, Livonia, Ventress, Fordoche and Morganza.
Driveways, parking pads, shed and building pads, raised beds, grade repair and drainage all start with the right material under them. Select Fill and Top Soil handle the grading and bed prep, 610 limestone and Crushed Concrete carry the base, and the washed stone handles water.

What buyers ask us before they order.

Clean stone, because fines are what stop water moving. #57 Limestone at about 3/4 inch handles driveway drainage and trench work. Drain Rock is washed with the fines taken out, which suits French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs. On ground where the water table sits close to the surface, that clean drainage layer is the part that has to work.
A clear, level spot the truck can reach and tip in, with nothing parked in the way and no low branches or wires over the approach. If the drop is behind a gate, tell us the width when you order. Soft ground after rain is the usual reason a delivery in Jarreau has to be moved, so point out anywhere the truck should not drive.
