Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply handles gravel and aggregate delivery in Jones, LA, and 610 limestone is the base most ground here gets built on. It runs from stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
That matters on the rolling sandy loam of the northern and western uplands. The surface takes water and the clay beneath it does not, so the base under a drive or a pad has to hold up on its own.
Water is the reason most of this ground needs a drainage layer. Clean washed stone with the fines taken out is what moves it, and Drain Rock is the washed product for French drains, foundation perimeter drains, drywells and downspout runs.
Where the water has nowhere to go, a drywell gives it somewhere. Downspout runs carry roof water away from the slab instead of letting it sit against the foundation.
For the coarsest work, #4 Crushed Stone is roughly 1 1/2 inch and clean. It suits heavy drainage, erosion work and stabilising very wet ground.
#57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch with no fines. It is the usual choice for drainage and for concrete work.
#67 Stone is a little finer and clean. It fits drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete.
For fine drainage and paver bedding, #8 Crushed Stone runs about 3/8 inch. #89 Crushed Stone goes finer still, for paver joints and thin bedding layers.
On the base side, 610 Limestone is the compacted layer under flatwork and the surface for driveways, parking pads and shed pads. Crushed Concrete is recycled Portland cement concrete crushed and screened with the fines left in, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
It is not crushed limestone.
Where ground sits low, Select Fill raises it and compacts rather than settling. Top Soil is the growing layer for lawns and beds over ground that is more often heavy clay than anything a lawn wants.
Mason Sand is the finest washed sand, for mortar, brick and block work and for a smooth paver setting bed. Washed Sand, also called river sand, beds pipe and flatwork.

A dump truck tips the load in one pile on site. Jones sits in Morehouse Parish, and delivery covers the surrounding area, including Bastrop, Mer Rouge, Collinston, Bonita and Oak Ridge.
Work runs year round here. Wet clay in the draws is what stops a compaction pass, so timing a delivery around that is worth doing.
The sandy loam surface takes water and the clay beneath it does not. Water moves sideways down the slopes and gathers in the draws instead of draining straight down.
Bare sandy slopes cut into gullies quickly once the cover is gone. Stream and ditch scour in the draws is the other place erosion shows up.
That is why a drainage layer carries so much of the work on this ground. Clean washed stone lets water through where a fines-bearing material would hold it.

What buyers ask us before they order.
Yes. Louisiana Rock Supply delivers 610 limestone in bulk to Jones and the surrounding part of Morehouse Parish, including Bastrop, Mer Rouge, Collinston, Bonita and Oak Ridge. You order online by the ton or by the yard, pick a delivery date at checkout, and a dump truck tips the load on site.
It depends on whether you are building the base or surfacing it. 610 limestone is the compacted base for a driveway here, because the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled. For the surface, #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch, with no fines.
Place the order with the date you want and we confirm the delivery window back to you. Give us as much notice as you can for Jones so you get the slot you want rather than the one that is left, and tell us up front if the site is only reachable at certain times.
