Open the calculatorLouisiana Rock Supply handles gravel and aggregate delivery in Barataria, LA, ordered online and tipped on site by the ton. 610 limestone is the base this market builds on, the crushed limestone base that hardens under a driveway or a pad.
Water is the other half of the job. With the water table close to the surface across the deltaic plain, drainage stone is what keeps a pad and a drive working.
Washed stone is the material to start with here. It comes clean, with the fines taken out, so water moves through it instead of sitting in it.
That is what a French drain, a drywell or a downspout run needs.
Drain Rock is the washed stone for those jobs. It goes in a French drain trench, around a foundation perimeter, into a drywell, or along a downspout run.
Below the drainage layer, the base course still has to hold. 610 Limestone is the local base, stone dust up to about two inches, and the fines bind it so it hardens as it is rolled.
It goes under driveways, parking pads, shed pads and flatwork.
Road Base is the recycled option for the same base layer, crushed and screened with the fines left in. It is recycled Portland cement concrete, not crushed quarry stone, and Louisiana permits it as a Class II base course material.
On top of a finished base, #57 Limestone is the clean open graded size at about 3/4 inch. It is a driveway surface and a drainage stone, and it works around concrete.
A little finer, #67 Stone suits drainage trenches, pipe bedding and concrete. For ground that stays wet, #4 Crushed Stone is the coarse clean stone at roughly 1 1/2 inch, for heavy drainage and erosion work.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk material across Barataria, which sits in Jefferson Parish. Coverage reaches the rest of the parish as well, including Metairie, Kenner, Marrero, Harvey and Gretna.
You order online. Quantities are ordered by the ton or by the yard, and each product page has a calculator if you want to size the load yourself.
You pick your delivery date at checkout, and a dump truck tips the material on site in one pile.
Bulk loads are heavy, so a firm spot for the pile helps. The truck tips the load where it can safely reach, and you work it from there.
Work here runs year round. Rain and high water interrupt the schedule far more than cold does, so timing a delivery around the wetter stretches is worth planning for.
The ground across the deltaic plain is coastal marsh: organic muck and soft clay, under consolidated and highly compressible. Firm ground turns up on natural levee ridges, old distributary channels and the cheniers, the shell and sand ridges of the southwest coast.
The water table sits at or near the surface, and the ground is already saturated. Nothing drains downward here.
Water leaves by pump, canal or not at all, so a drainage layer has to move it sideways and out.
A pad built on muck settles under its own weight before anything is parked on it. That is why select fill or river silt goes in first to raise the grade, then a base course over it.
Rounded stone will not lock together for that work.
Along open water and canal banks, storm surge and wave action work on the edges. Angular stone is what holds a bank; rounded river rock does not.
Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk gravel, washed stone, sand, soil and fill across Barataria and the rest of Jefferson Parish. Base, drainage stone, surfacing and fill are all ordered online by the ton or by the yard, with your delivery date chosen at checkout.
Build the base and the drainage layer for the ground you actually have, then place your order.
What buyers ask us before they order.
Yes. Louisiana Rock Supply delivers 610 limestone in bulk to Barataria and the surrounding part of Jefferson Parish, including Metairie, Kenner, Marrero, Harvey and Gretna. You order by the ton or by the yard, pick a delivery date at checkout, and a dump truck tips the load on site.
It depends on which layer you are building. 610 limestone is the compacted base for a driveway, and it hardens as it is rolled. On top of that base, #57 limestone is a clean open graded surface stone that lets water through. With the water table this close to the surface, that drainage matters as much as the surface.
Place the order with the date you want and we confirm the delivery window back to you. Give us as much notice as you can for Barataria so you get the slot you want rather than the one that is left, and tell us up front if the site is only reachable at certain times.
