Open the calculatorIf you are pricing gravel and aggregate delivery in Enterprise, LA, the first question is usually what to put down. Louisiana Rock Supply sells bulk material by the ton or the yard, and 610 limestone is the base most ground here gets built on.
Enterprise sits in Catahoula Parish, on ground that stays heavy and wet. The material you choose has to answer that.
You order online, pick your quantity by the ton or by the yard, and choose a delivery date at checkout. Each product page has a calculator if you want to size the load before you commit.
A dump truck then tips the material in one pile at the address you give. If your site is in Jonesville, Sicily Island, Harrisonburg or Aimwell, the same online order covers it.
Bulk loads are heavy and the truck needs room to reach the drop point. A cleared, firm spot near the work keeps the pile where you can move it with a wheelbarrow or a machine.
Decorative rock does the work on beds, borders and ground cover, and it is where a lot of Enterprise projects start. Rounded stone lays flat and stays put without compacting, which is what you want under a shrub line.
River Rock is the rounded stone for beds, borders and ground cover. It reads as finished surface, so it belongs where nothing has to bear weight.
Large River Rock is the cobble size, for dry creek beds, decorative edging and low banks. Rounded stone does not lock together, so keep it off anything that has to hold a slope.
For a dry creek bed, line the run with the larger cobble and let the smaller rounded stone sit inside it. The shape carries the water; the stone is the look.
Natural Pea Gravel is the small rounded gravel for paths, dog runs and play areas. It is comfortable underfoot and easy to rake back into place.
Shredded Mulch covers tree rings and bed surfaces. It is a dressing, not a structural layer, so it goes on top of finished ground.
For a driveway or a parking pad, start with 610 Limestone. The Louisiana base size runs from stone dust up to about two inches, so the fines bind it and it hardens as it is rolled.
#57 Limestone is the clean open graded size, about 3/4 inch with no fines. It drains, which makes it the usual choice for a driveway surface and for concrete work.
Where you need a drain to actually move water, Drain Rock is clean washed stone with the fines taken out. It suits French drains, foundation perimeter drains and downspout runs.
Across the Mississippi and Red River alluvial plains, the ground is recent alluvium: silty clay and clay loam laid down by the rivers. It is deep, heavy and fertile, and it does not drain quickly.
Sandier natural levee ridges run along the old channels, and backswamp clay sits in the low ground between them. On a flat parcel, that difference decides where water goes.
The water table sits high and the clay will not take water. Rain stands in the low ground until it is ditched or pumped away, so a drainage layer has to work from the first rain.
That is why an under-built base fails here. A fines-bearing base laid on saturated clay holds water instead of shedding it, and the surface above it moves.
Erosion comes from river and bayou bank cutting, from sheet flow across bare clay after a hard rain, and from ditch and canal scour. Riprap and large angular stone are the materials for that work.
Work runs year round in this part of the state. Heavy rain and saturated clay stop a compaction pass, not cold.
Start with 610 limestone for anything that has to carry weight, and finish the beds and borders with river rock or Natural Pea Gravel. Louisiana Rock Supply delivers bulk aggregate across Enterprise and the rest of Catahoula Parish.

What buyers ask us before they order.
It depends on the area you are covering and the depth you want, and both of those are yours to set. Each product page carries a calculator that turns your measurements into a quantity. Order by the ton or by the yard once you have that figure, and the load arrives as one tipped pile.
Yes. Every bulk product, from 610 limestone to river rock and shredded mulch, is ordered by the ton or by the yard. You choose the quantity and a delivery date at checkout, and a dump truck tips it at your Enterprise address. Orders also reach Jonesville, Sicily Island, Harrisonburg and Aimwell in Catahoula Parish.
You can order by the ton or by the cubic yard, whichever suits how you plan the job. If you tell us the area you are covering and the depth you want, we will work the quantity out with you rather than leaving you to guess.
